Cruise - Salerno, Italy

Grant, Paula, Issy and I did a Celebrity excursion to Amalfi, while Roxy and Jon did a Rome in Limo tour to Positano, Sorrento and Pompeii.

We boarded a water taxi-type boat very close to where our ship docked.

It was a very scenic 45 minute ride to Amalfi.  We had a lovely tour-guide who reminded me of the lead character in "My Life in Ruins".  She gave us some info on our way to Amalfi, but most of it escaped me as Isabella was a bit active!

Once in Amalfi our guide walked us to the main square and told us what time to meet back there.

Having been to Amalfi before, we had pretty much seen what we wanted to see there (Amalfi is lovely, with lots of interesting little shops and a beautiful cathedral, a great place to spend a day) and our plan was to take Issy to the beach.  So off we set!  We hired a couple of loungers and an umbrella and got ourselves changed and into the water.  This beach came complete with a container that housed a change-room and a loo.  It was a lovely part-sand, part-pebble beach and the sea was beautifully calm.  We had a lovely swim and Issy spent some time playing happily with her bucket and some pebbles.  It was a wonderful couple of hours.

At the appointed time we wandered back to the meeting place, popping in to a shop along the way. The boat ride back was most enjoyable.

We spent the afternoon relaxing on board.  Rox and Jon had bought a blow-up pool for Issy, which we erected in the pool area and filled with water from the shower.  She enjoyed that!  After her swim we took her up to the grass area where she ran around for a while.

When Issy gets to choose her lunch it's ....different!

Once Rox and Jon got back and collected Issy from us, we freshened up and then went and had pre-dinner drinks at the Gastro bar, and watched the mini-show in the atrium.  The shows have been really good on this cruise.

Rox and Jon opted for a buffet supper with Issy, while the rest of us ate in the dining-room.
