Cruise - Saturday 2 July

Today we set off on our week-long cruise on board the Celebrity Equinox.

We had a quick and easy check-in and were soon on-board where we met up with Lisa and Trev.  We enjoyed catching up over glasses of champagne and then made our way up to the Oceanview Cafe for a buffet lunch.

We were able to get into our rooms at about 1pm.  Our room is what is called an "obstructed view balcony" - meaning that the view from the balcony is obstructed by a life raft.  The only way we could afford a balcony cabin and all the perks that came with it (including the Classic Drinks Package - we bagged a really good promotion!) was if we booked an obstructed view,so we figure the pros far outweigh the cons!  We loved having the balcony and used it a lot.

We freshened up and then took a wander around the ship to familiarise ourselves with everything on board.  We went up to the Sunset Bar for sail-away and enjoyed sitting on the lawn toasting our cruise with a glass of champagne as we set sail.

We were very pleased to find our luggage had arrived by the time we got back to our rooms, so we could unpack and get properly settled before the Muster Drill.

After the muster drill we got ready for dinner.  Because we have little Issy with us on this cruise we have worked out a system where we will do dinner in shifts - tonight we had dinner at 6:30pm while Rox and Jon took Issy to the buffet for her dinner, we will then take Issy and get her settled in bed while Rox and Jon have their dinner in the main dining-room.  This way Issy never has to sit through dinner in the main dining-room, but all the adults get to eat in the main dining-room which we enjoy.
