Cruise: Toulon, France

Today we had an early start, so we ordered room-service breakfast.    We did a Celebrity excursion to Cassis.  Most of us have been to Cassis before, so we knew what to expect and had a plan in place, Rox and Jon had never been before, so we were keen for them to fall in love with the place like we had on our previous visit.  We had a nice guide, who spoke good English.  Unfortunately today is quite windy so we were unable to do the scenic Cap Canaille drive to Cassis and we were also not able to do a boat trip to the Calanques as we had planned.  Instead we took a nice wander around Cassis, which is such a beautiful little town.

Yup, it was windy!

We stopped at a bakery and bought some pastries which we took to a little park, where we sat and enjoyed them, they were literally the best pastries I have ever tasted.   Mine was a lemon tart... yum!

For many years I have read a blog written by a lady called Corey Amaro, her and her husband recently bought one of the old fisherman's houses in Cassis, which they are renovating - Grant and I have been enjoying keeping track of the renovations on Corey's blog.  While we were wandering around Cassis, Grant and I were really happy to be able to find the house and see it "in real life."  The house is visible in the photo below (it's one of the houses along the right... you kind of have to zoom in and know what to look for....):

The ice-cream obsession is strong in this little girl!

Once we had returned to the boat we had a siesta and then a pre-dinner drink.

We enjoyed dinner and then Grant and I went and bought ourselves watches on the watch sale.  Tonight we watched the show "Live" in the theatre.  It was extremely good, definitely better than any show we saw on our previous cruise on the Equinox.
